I was taken aback by the Bolt news, as we've been sorta kinda edging toward buying an EV and don't want some ginormous truck or one of Elon's specials. We have friends who've had a Bolt for several years and have loved it. I test-drove theirs and thought it was pretty fun, but my standards are pretty low.
The problem with EVs is that while they don't burn oil themselves, they use electricity, which is still largely generated through the use of fossil fuels.
